Wow Kathy! You are amazing! It is so hard to render fire... but you did it and you did it perfectly! I love the glow from the flames. That dragon is splendid! I like the angle you chose. Great character design! Another perfect illustration for the theme this week. You are on fire! :o)
WOW, fabulous, the light is reflected in the child's eyes and what a brilliant expression, one of wonder, bit like mine now! LOL The detail of the dragon and it's flames is amazing:0) xx
Oh Kathy, This is superb! I love the expression of both of them. And the light on his face is so soft and alive. It is such a talent to express so much with pencil and paper, no color!
Good God, Kathy! Is there anything you can't draw?? This is without a doubt my new favorite of yours! Such a contrast between the burning and the tender soft expression...
Your work is beautiful! I love it! This piece reminds me of the work of Adrienne Ségur, who illustrated a number of children's books in the early 1960s.
Oh, but this is just breath taking Kathy! My goodness! It never ever stops with you does it??? Every piece is always, ALWAYS excellent and filled with wonderment. You leave us speech and in awe of the wonderful gift that you have been given and that you share with us all. I am consistently blown away by your awesome work. It is always timely, and beautiful and full of life. You are an amazing illustrator and it is my pleasure and joy to know you are out in the world creating beautiful visions like this. I am so blessed to see your magic with my own eyes. I am thankful for your very special gift of creative goodness. I wish you and yours a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I am thankful for you Kathy! Keep on doing your thing cause it's beautiful! Sincerely, VBn
Lovely illustration! This was one, though, that I really wish were in color. I can just imagine the colors! But it's so beautiful--the gentleness and wonder on the child's face, and the little dragon born in fire.
I am so flattered that you commented on my blog since your work is so amazing! The girls face in this one is so soft and beautiful, I could stare at her all day.
Hah, I came the other day and thought I commented, well oh dear this is .... like.... err made me speechless. Whcih is unusual. I think its the delicacy, the glow of the light in the texture that does it - apart form everything elze that is. Softness and dreams eh? What else do we want in life? Hmm a baby dragon err dwagon :)
