Adrift..

I drew this picture for my friend Renee's birthday last year, when I saw the word "adrift" this week I instantly thought of it... Renee is very ill at the moment, she is a wonderful, inspirational woman and I am reposting this illustration as a tribute to her courage and strength....
love you Renee... xoxoxo

This is such a beautiful image, the pale lemon flowers are so pretty, what a lovely gift for Renee. I've just been to her blog and it's so upsetting to hear how she's suffering. I do send my best wishes to her to feel better soon. Thanks for sharing this wonderful image again Kathy, like Poppy said in the comment above, it's like it came from another world.xx

I've missed so many of your beautiful works (bad Bella, BAD!). I am just stunned by all this beauty. You are simply fantastic, one of the best colored pencil artists I've seen!

Hi Kathy,
I don't know if i have ever had the chance to tell you how absolutely beautiful this picture is. I know it was one of my Mom's favourties and she truly treasured it. She finally got around to framing it some time after you sent. It had been sitting in the shop for some time. I went to get it for her when she was in the hospital because it seemed important for me to show it to her. Despite how terrible she was feeling she popped out of bed and just said, "Gorgeous. That print is gorgeous and it's one of my favourites. Don't leave it here, I want it to be safe at home so I will see it when I get back." She obviously didn't make it home but I have brought it to our new house. I have place it at the end of the hall, whereupon the left is Domenic's room and the right is Josephine's. It seems like a perfect spot. It takes them to the dreamland where I hope my Mom is there to meet them.
It's beautiful and it will always be a treasure. Thanks again for making this for my Mom. I remember her smile whenever she looked at and talked about it.
I hope all is wonderful with you.
Much love,
Angelique
