Hey, I like your illustration for this week. Children are great predenders. Just give them a mask and costume and they're set!

So beautiful! It reminds me of a shakespeare's play...

Another great illustration Kathy, again with the autumn theme I love. The masks remind me of the ones tradtionally worn at the Venice Carnivals :)

Oh such beautiful shades in those trees! I love the fantastic shapes of the masks and the movement in the girl. A lovely illustration Kathy and thanks for showing the drawing too. I love to see the process. :)

it reminds me of a midsummers night dream... maybe its the masks? Lovely, and fun to see the original drawing along with the finished piece.

It always amazes me what you come up with! Besides the overall wonderfulness, I especially love the way you handled the hands and feet, and just looooove the way the trees blend into gold against the purple blend of the background. They positively glow!

Interesting choice to leave the mask white. I think it is effective.

Please forgive me for being so bold, but my latest illustration on my blog includes a hare in it. I would be honored if you took the time to take a peek at it.

Just wanted to let you know I tagged you over at my blog

Oops! I just read the previous comment but I already tagged you over on my blog - guess you've been double teamed. Don't feel obligated if you're not into these things or you're just plain busy.

By the way, I love your character hiding behind the tree - the costume and pinned on tail.

Ooooh, this is like a beautiful opera! Fantastic costumes. They look completely and happily lost in their pretend world.

Kathy, I adore your work! How long does it take to complete a small piece, let's say, 8"x11" versus a 16"x20"? Just curious. I know how work intensive color pencil can be. Once again, it was lovely visiting your sight on this cold and snowy day in Pennsylvania (USA)!

Indigene, thankyou for your lovely comment. most of my colour pencil illustrations take about two days to complete, depending on how detailed the backgrounds are. I usually build up the colours layer upon layer which is very time consuming! I actually think that the hardest part is at the beginning when I am making the initial sketches.

Its very cold here too but we haven't had any snow yet..
